P.S.S. ram is another point. got myself Atech 32GB KIT (2 x 16GB) DIMM DDR3 ECC Registered PC3-12800 1600MHz Dual Rank RAM Memory. with single cpu (ES 2670) post reports a ram error in ANY upper slot (5-8). modules swap ain help. similar issue could be found on hp forums using other ram manufactures. perhaps glauder could comment on this. pls share ram options who have tested already. cheers.
Your cabinet has the fan assemby? If you do not have the rams overheat and make mistakes. I had this problem and solved with cooling.
The Z820 has the VRM heatsink very near to the cpu0 rams.

I buy it for Z800, but I gave up on him and then I got another 16GB for Z820. Low voltage memories (1,35v) are useless, the Z800 and Z820 use them at 1.5v so they spend the same energy as ordinary memory.
