I still have to troubleshoot the warnings, but press F1 and ok.

I never bothered eliminating them and to this day I'm still pressing F1 on startup!
It's worse than that, it's physics Jim!

dear glauder - bravo and grazie!
have u considered taking that original PS apart to clone it with regular PS? i can imagine more then just 5-11v difference, so, someone tech savvy should give a try.
cheers.

No i dont considred it. The original power supply have 1125w and 90% eficiency. Power supply for Z820 has got a lot of power at 12v rails , (Z820 use only 12v rail). ATX power supply with this feature are very expensive and the original cost me cheap, only 150U$ in my country.
I plan to redo the cables, I'm extracting the pinout from the original cables.
And good news the 18 pin connector pinout has been posted on the HP foum:

I bought at mercadolivre.com a brazilian auction site. I was lucky because I bought when I posted that first message and there were no chinese cables, so the power supply dont sell well. The seller was a year advertising and lowered the price for me buy.
Who does not buy the cabinet, i recommend getting a Z420 motherboard is ATX size dont need case mod. The Z820 need case mod and has serious heat problems, the memories fry! I had to buy nine 12cm fans to put on the sides of the cabinet, plus two 14cm inside and one 8cm fan to blow air into the power supply. Not counting the two hyper 212s for the cpus.

The usb and 1394 dont is critical, but the fan error i need solve. I'm doing reengineering in the fan conector, i already buy the male connector in digykey, end of the month should be coming.

i have ended up getting case with 850 psu. now stuck at heathinks.
is the re any alternatives to expensive original (G0J48AA) ones?
thx.
P.S. have found this rather questionable alternative. dont feel enthusiastic tho:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/HEATSINK-FOR-HP-Z820-WORKSTATION-636164-001-with-Fan-647113-001-/232232385612?hash=item361220fc4c:g:Dg8AAOSwopRYmeVJ

P.S.S. ram is another point. got myself Atech 32GB KIT (2 x 16GB) DIMM DDR3 ECC Registered PC3-12800 1600MHz Dual Rank RAM Memory. with single cpu (ES 2670) post reports a ram error in ANY upper slot (5-8). modules swap ain help. similar issue could be found on hp forums using other ram manufactures. perhaps glauder could comment on this. pls share ram options who have tested already. cheers.

Your cabinet has the fan assemby? If you do not have the rams overheat and make mistakes. I had this problem and solved with cooling.
The Z820 has the VRM heatsink very near to the cpu0 rams.
My ram is this:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/48GB-12x-4GB-HP-500658-B21-500203-061-501534-001-PC3-10600R-DL360-G6-G7-RAM-/182461591849?hash=item2a7b8ef129:g:e2wAAOSwtfhYq2N5

I buy it for Z800, but I gave up on him and then I got another 16GB for Z820. Low voltage memories (1,35v) are useless, the Z800 and Z820 use them at 1.5v so they spend the same energy as ordinary memory.

here is how it looks so far. waiting for 2 original heatsinks to install teh fan box back. couldnt find any OEM  solution so far.
single 16gb ram installed. second ram in any upped slot gives error, bioas cant c it anyways. thinking of getting exact matched hp part ram set.
cant put the gpu without removing the metal thingie.
enjoy pics )

Hi there. If you interesting, one aliexpress seller sells adapter for usual ATX power supply but the price is very high
https://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/PSU-ATX-Power-Conver-Cable-24-Pin-to-18-Pin-8-Pin-to-8-8-6/215107_32778125250.html?spm=2114.12010612.0.0.5294Zq
If someone have power cable for CPU0,CPU1 and memory (hp p/n 647111-001), I ask him to help with pinout, I've tried to probe signals with multimeter but I'm not sure about three contacts
